Reply: I treasure our long distance friendship immensely

Hola Doctor Linda~ Yes... I really do treasure our long distance friendship immensely. I still remember the days when I was at Mather Community Campus early in my continued recovery when we would Email back and forth, exchange thoughts and twirl spins. My main responsibility in those sabbatical days was just staying straight one day at a time. I know that I have grown a lot since those times, especially spiritually.

I rarely, if ever, accidentally Email to a Group as I did with Christians-In-Recovery, when I got kicked out and you resigned in protest!

Nowadays, I am a lot less OCD driven and anxious. Sobriety opens up new states of mind, new feelings about life and give us a real second {or last?} chance at life. Life among the living, instead of being among the broken-hearted ones who have lost their faith in life, faith in the future and most assuredly their faith in Monarch butterflies.

I guess I am a late bloomer, but feel that I have bloomed well, though sometimes these thorns on the side prick me still!
"To mature is in part to realize that while complete intimacy and omniscience and power cannot be had, transcendence, growth and closeness to others are nevertheless within one's reach."
~Sissela Bok, Secrets (1983) ~From Quotations By Women
Remember: If you see a hulk of a man with tangled long hair curled up in a blanket asleep by your doorstep it is just one of your favorite tramps. So DON"T SHOOT THE MESSENGER!
On further reflection, I know you have grown a lot too in these last several years. I suppose with our chemical addiction arrests our natural 'normal' adult development, especially emotionally. Ordinarily, most men my age would be happily married with brats, mortgage payments and be preparing for retirement. I feel as I am just starting out!
Sometimes I feel like a kid just bouncing balls and juggling oranges... other times I feel as ancient as the seas. So go figure...
I believe you have become a lot more understanding and have learned to kind of let others be as they are. We catch 'em... God cleans 'em!
For me, it is not a Pascalesque wager, but more simply a recognition of the beauty and diversity of all of nature. Connected reality did not just pop-up by itself. There was an intelligent design behind the cosmos that is still unfolding before us, despite ancient Biblical scriptures.

I suppose folks will be spinning this until the end of time as we know it, but I for one have no fear of Armageddon. I have today to contend with on a daily basis.
Invest in a decent computer, this laptop is like a toy compared to my Desktop over Barbara's. I may buy a new top of the line cheap one from a computer store owner we know named Ali.
My main job is writing, though my odd job working at Sally's keep me occupied. It is not a job I can just clock out of and pretend that the continuing plight of Amerika's domestic refugees ~the homeless~ does not cause me much concern and consternation.
Alas, we strive to do the best we can with what we have available in terms of natural resources, including our enduring humane compassion.
Behold my family!

Hi Peter,
I saw the video you made. It's nice; the first time I ever heard your voice! You have a distinguished voice, by the way, the kind a person likes to hear. Must be useful in your work. I have no experience with YouTube, but maybe with my next generation home computer I will be able to take the load of sound and image communication. It's just too much for my litte laptop.
Anyway, great to see you in motion and hear your voice.
Love,
Linda
