I woke up early as usual, then, did what I had to do at Sally's, including my Housing Workshop @6 PM. Sometimes I wonder about how much good we do, despite all the good work we do. Resources are extremely limited and the needs of the homeless are overwhelming, especially with the government throwing away so many billions on the Iraq-nam War and other evil foreign escapades.
I can offer my advise, my counseling and my viewpoints about various matters to clients and others I talk to during the day, yet there is always so much more that I see needs to be done. At times it gets so discouraging, though sometimes we have our occasional little victories when someone secures housing or lands a job. We do what we can with what little we have.
Eventually I want to create, establish and expand an educational non-profit corporation with which we can reach out to people, build up basic community survival programs and develop a cohesive community infrastructure for serving the people, raising consciousness and heightening the internal contradictions between the oppressed and the oppressor so that the whole situation will be clear to all of us.
We must know who are the oppressed and who are our oppressors. In the process of transforming the whole situation on the global, national, regional and local levels one soul at a time we must change ourselves, set an example of humane ethics in all our transactions and understand that much of the real change that must happen in the world is the internal change within ourselves.
All along the way we will need to have, exhibit and promote a solid set of humane ethics and higher consciousness that will help shape the souls of our times and give real tangible hope to all those who feel they are powerless over their lives. We seek to empower the great masses of the people!
