Today was a pretty eventful day. I am on ‘D’ Street at the Chacon Casa.
This late morning, we had a productive Case Management Meeting around 11 AM and later around 1 PM I popped in on a little potluck they had across the street at the Salvation Army Family Services office, they are usually closed to the public on Fridays in all the afternoon. Apparently this little potluck is a weekly thing, so maybe I will bring something next week if I check it out.
Later I took a few pictures and blogged them on the CASA Blog.

It is a Friday night and I hope our people at Sally’s will do well tonight and throughout the weekend. I talked to the men during the dorm meeting and stressed the importance of making progress, no matter how small, each and every day while they are at the shelter, with the hope that they will continue to do so after they depart the shelter situation. Spiritual growth requires positive changes in our mental processes and our behavior patterns.
The Sacramento Housing Alliance had a Benefit Concert at the Crest Theater on the Mall. I saw Sister Paula and she had the means to get me in with a complimentary ticket to see it since she will be working with it, but at the time I was going to go to school.
I was on the Light Rail going towards City College, then, changed my mind and decided just to head back here to the house. Our Teacher Jan Haag is suppose to be back east in Maryland for a few days and we were support to have a guest speaker. The spirit told me to head back downtown. Coincidentally or not, I met several people that I know downtown by the mall and learned a few things.
Mark and a few others will be leaving for San Francisco tomorrow in the late morning. Sonny who lives out back and his friend Evan are already there in the City. They will all be going to the Blues Festival. I will be ‘the man’ around here and be keeping an eye and ear out and kind of being here watching the place. Plus, I will be feeding Creeper his cole slaw, Sonny gila monster lizard.
It has been yet another day of sanity, sobriety and relative serenity for me. I need to work on my article for my Creative Writing Class that is due on 12th.
It will be a cold night here in Sacramento. I see that was some serious snow up where my friend Danny lives up in Truckee, not far from the Lake Tahoe area. It is support to be around 74 degrees tomorrow. I will see how it is in the morning to determine what I should wear.
I hope to get some good writing done this weekend. Nada Mas Ahora.
