11-21-07: Strive to Keep It Simple!

I have had about six hours of sleep, though, I woke up to relieve myself I think about twice. I know that sleep is a key part of healthy living and read that the Great Einstein slept about 11 hours per night, plus, he usually wore the same kind of suit that made it easier for him to dress up each day. I saves time and keeps it simple.

Einstein"Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler", said Albert Einstein.

We should strive to simplify the complex, not incessantly complicate the simple. When we are hungry we should eat, but not make a science out of preparing a simple meal. The idea is to satisfy the hunger.

For example, many drug addicts have already complicated their lives with the
disease of substance addiction, why complicate stuff more than necessary when we strive to get into our progressive recovery? We should study the basic 12-Steps Program, get involved in the growing recovery movement and live out our lives with as much as intelligence, inspiration and imagination as we can as we flower and blossom.

Naturally, life is often complex, especially in today's ever changing high-tech society, but we should still strive to keep it simple, not impulsively complicate even further what is already complicated by numerous kinds of social contradictions.

I received a big turkey before I left work yesterday and I figure I will work on it this evening in order to it to be ready for tomorrow. It was called FAMILY PRIDE! So I want to have a simple turkey dinner, love turkey sandwiches and I hope my Sister Marie will be able to come over for the day.

The Christmas Holidays actually kind of kicks off with Thanksgiving Day and I hope all goes well. Fortunately, I will have a few bucks to get a few presents and I plan to just buy a few books for a few people and leave it at that. I am not going to stress out over the Holidays and will strive to keep it simple.

I always remember Dr. Bob Smith's words to Bill Wilson about not lousing up the program and keeping it simple, not confusing it with a bunch of psycho-babble.

I believe that the typical dope fiend suffers from one of the most obvious exhibitions of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Once s/he gets sobers up, stays straight and seriously gets into progressive recovery there is still the old mentality, behavior and psyche of OCD that haunts his/her every thought, exchange and experience unless one remains on a higher level of genuine consciousness. We need to change, change and change on a constant basis, sharpen our tools and continue to work on ourselves. The three stage process of progressive recovery is sobriety, recovery and on-going maturity.

My friend and tech-support expert John G. has worked well on my old computer desktop and apparently he got help from a Microsoft Engineer friend of his and I suspect Bill Gates himself. His friend actually knows Mr. Gates himself!

My writing will go a lot quicker and smoother once I get my desktop over here as the key board is bigger, the computer screen and the hard drive is a lot speedier.

Time is the quintessence of all the stuff in the Cosmos and truth be told I feel as if I have wasted away decades of my life in my drunken escapism. So for me, time itself has more value ~ as the very essence of life ~ than it does for most people who mindlessly waste their time instead of using it wisely! Time to get ready for work and moving on yonder!!!
