Life goes on, within us and without us. It is a good day here weather wise. I wrote a letter to my Hermano Roberto earlier I will send tomorrow. Cousin Marcos is in San Francisco today and scheduled to come Monday afternoon. I have my CASA Meeting this evening at 7 PM and we will discuss an Article that came out on the latest Sacra News and Review.

I have been feeling a littl bit under the weather health-wise, but have gotten a few herbs that should help, especially St. John's Wort. No I have not taken any marijuana, but then I am not against people using marijuana for real medicinal purposes, though for me it could be a trigger into my indulgence in other harmful substances, especially alcohol that could easily lead to a reuptake into 'crank'. So yes, for me, any indulgence in any chemical substances could spell disaster and doom for me.

I have been pondering more about the concept of spiritual sobriety, a kind of sobriety that is far beyond mere physical sobriety or the knuckle-biting sobriety of day-by-day sobriety in recovery. Spiritual sobriety is about enjoying a kind of oneness with the Creator in conjunction with a cosmic consciousness wherein we strive to be in harmony with the cosmos. It is a kind of inner serenity that helps us cope with life upon Mother Earth with all of its stressors and challenges.

Spiritual sobriety is actively participating in spiritual practices that serve us well, that keep us actively healthy and in our lives. Being in possession of a sober spirit, it promotes prayer, meditation and study so we can continually be working on raising our consciousness and deepening our understanding of the world around us.

Spiritual sobriety is logical, practical and enriches our lives, without the basic failings of all forms of fanaticism, including religious fanaticism. Fanaticism is a form of imbalance, a wild-eyed warp, a twisted distortion of the truth.

Spiritual sobriety helps us to be at peace with ourselves, with our Great Creator and with all others in our lives without always analyzing, judging and condemning. It helps to free us in order to continue working on our individual spiritual growth, inner self-esteem and personal prosperity so we can be in a better position to give and help others.

Spiritual sobriety bridges us with our deepest morals, our tested principles and our basic humane ethics. It is not swayed to and fro by various faddish dogmas and passing doctrines. It does not always blindly follow the mindless herd but gives us the inner conviction to follow our own instincts, think through our own thoughts and come to our own rational conclusions. It is ultimately liberating!

Isaiah 55: 1-13 ~ King James Version

1 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

4 Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.

5 Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.

6Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:

7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
