Well I went to work today and made it through the day OK. I took a couple of days off because I was really ill with Halloween flu. Yesterday I got some decongestant, Vicks Vapo Rub, Vicks Inhaler and drank more water. Today when I went to work people were honestly concerned and asked how I was doing, including our dear Director Elizabeth. Some work stuff had pilled up on my desk, especially Five-Day Notices which are given to clients in order to assess where they are at in relation to their Housing Plan of Action and to get their attention about what they must be doing.

After work we had a Bible Study which went well. As usual, I opened with a short prayer. When I do the Bible Study I get people to share about what was the turning point in their lives that turned them to Jesus Christ if they are Christians. I believe it is good for us to know about each other, about significant events in our lives and how they shaped our spiritual growth. We went the Daily Bread, discussed it in general and other related ideas and sharings that came up, then, I closed that portion of the Bible Study with a closing prayer.
Sister Shyann helped me do it by showig a movie afterwards. She is a great blessing to us and knows that this is ultimately spiritual warfare that we are involved in. At the shelter it is more a matter than simply giving homeless people a bunk, food and practical guidance. A lot of it involves educating people as we lead them out of the darkness and into the light of God's love, truth and righteousness.
Then, after the movie started I grabbed my coat and walked home where I am at now. After I passed the tracks by 19th Street I called my gal on the way home. I plan for us to go into town tomorrow after I get off work by 4:30 PM so we can upgrade her cell phone, get a bite to eat then I will escort her back to her hideout. Tomorrow is always a brand new day!
I arrived home to a sad surprise. When I opened the door and came inside I saw that dear Stella ~ Cousin Mark's dear German Shepherd mix pup~ had gotten a big couch pillow and tore it to shreads and feathers. I guess that was her little after Halloween Night trick for us. It is quite a big feathery mess. Cousin Mark went to the All Tribes A.A. Meeting and has called briefly via cell phone, but I did not have the heart to tell him of the mess. I will let him discover it after he gets home.... though, I think I will take a picture of it to share with you dear reader!

Without A Trace is on the boob tube right now. Mark has gone out to eat with a few folks. I think I will make a ham sandwich. I put Stella outside on the side of the house, which is an enclosed long rectangle area. She needs to stay out for now. Maybe something will sink into her thick skull. Maybe not. Nada mas ahora...
Later... after Marcos came home he saw the mess... at first he cussed, then he was relatively cool, put the muzzle on Stella and has placed her in the bathroom for now. She is still a pup in age and beautiful in her natural way.
Found out that Brother Sonny is claiming six years sobriety on this November 15th and that is a good thing!
