I want to help with the Nicaragua Clinic!! I am the Moderator for
several large groups on the Internet and have some connections.

I want to go down there someday... we will see what we will see.
In fact, that is what first got my eye about your Profile... you just
seemed open-minded.

I just got back from our CASA Meeting and they always help to lift

Hola Peta,

OK. I am in awe of what you do and fascinated by who you are.  BTW, thank you for sending the recent photo.  You truly look happy--the best possible credential for a humane being--JOY.

I went to the Loaves and Fishes site. I have a few things that are on the donor list and could easily collect more from my patients.  Some things I can take with me to Nicaragua for my Clinic there.  However, it may be more useful to donate the things that aren't medications to Loaves and Fishes.  One of my Aunt's best friends served meals there for many years.  Her name was Mary Scharf.  She died about three years ago.  Can you accept fruits and vegetables from private organic gardens?  I, from time to time, have lots of extra fruits and veggies in the garden.  In a week, I'll have a lot of peaches--that is if the birds leave me half the crop.  I counted a dozen birds in my smallish peach tree while I was eating my dinner while looking out the window.

Unfortunately, I will be working on July 1st so won't be able to participate in the March event.  I do believe that that is a good idea and definitely think a safe area is necessary in the Sacramento area for folks who need help.  Yes, I live in West Sacramento and we are considered the Sacramento area although some people would like to deny it because we are in underpriviledged Yolo County.

After your major event this next week, maybe we could meet for coffee and conversation.  Good luck with your March.

Hola All,

I thought these were too good to keep to myself.  I am still laughing at a couple statements.

Solo el amor prevalece,

Margie Fincham, RN, MSN, GCNS

Grandparents:

1. She was in the bathroom, putting on  her
makeup, under the watchful eyes of her young
granddaughter, as she'd done many times
before. After she applied her lipstick and
started to leave,
the little one said,  "But Gramma, you
forgot to kiss the toilet paper
good-bye!"   I will probably
never put lipstick on again without
thinking about kissing the toilet paper
good-bye

2.
My young grandson called the other  day to wish me
Happy Birthday. He asked me how old I was, and  I
told him, 62.   My grandson was quiet for a moment,
and  then he asked,
"Did you start at 1?"

3.
After putting her grandchildren to bed, a
grandmother changed into old slacks and
a droopy blouse and proceeded to wash her
hair. As she heard the children getting more
and more rambunctious, her patience
grew thin. Finally, she threw a towel around
her head and  stormed into their room,  putting
them back to bed with stern warnings. As she
left the room, she heard the three-year-old
say  with a trembling voice, "Who was THAT?"

4.
A grandmother was telling her little granddaughter
what her own childhood was like: "We used to skate
outside on a pond I had a swing made from a tire;
it hung from a tree in our front yard. We rode
our pony. We picked wild raspberries in the woods."

The little  girl was wide-eyed,  taking this all in.
At last she said, "I  sure wish I'd gotten to know you
sooner!"

5.
My grandson was visiting one day when  he asked,
"Grandma, do you know how you and God are
alike?" I mentally polished my halo and I said, "No,
how are we alike?"' "You're both old," he replied.

6.
A little girl was diligently pounding away on her
grandfather's word processor. She told
him she was writing a story. "What's it about?"
he asked. "I don't know," she replied. "I
can't read."

7.
I didn't know if my granddaughter had learned
her colors yet, so I decided to test her. I
would point out something and ask what
color it was. She would tell me and was always
correct. It was fun for me,  so I continued.

At last, she headed for the door, saying,
"Grandma, I think  you should try to figure
out some of  these, yourself!"

8.
When my grandson Billy and I entered our
vacation cabin,  we kept the lights off until
we were inside to keep from attracting
pesky insects. Still, a few fireflies followed

us in. Noticing them before I did, Billy
whispered, "It's no use Grandpa. Now the

mosquitoes are coming after us with
flashlights."

9.
When my grandson asked me how old I was, I
teasingly  replied, "I'm not sure."
"Look in your underwear, Grandpa,"
he advised, "mine says I'm 4 to 6."

10. A
second grader came home
from school and said to her grandmother,
"Grandma, guess what? We
learned how to  make babies today." The
grandmother, more than a
little surprised, tried to keep her
cool.  "That's interesting,"
she said, "how do you make
babies?"    "It's simple," replied the
girl. "You  just change 'y' to 'i' and
add 'es'."

11.
Children's Logic: "Give me a sentence about
a public servant," said a teacher. The
small boy wrote:   "The fireman came
down the ladder  pregnant." The teacher took
the lad aside to correct  him. "Don't  you know
what pregnant means?" she asked.  Sure,"
said the young boy confidently.   'It means
carrying a child."

12.
A grandfather was delivering his grandchildren
to their home one day when a fire truck
zoomed past.  Sitting in the front seat of the
fire truck was a Dalmatian dog.  The children
started discussing the  dog's duties.  "They use
him to keep crowds back," said  one child.
"No," said another. "He's just for good  luck."
A third child brought the argument to a
close. "They use the dogs," she said firmly, "to
find the  fire hydrants."

13.
A 6-year-old was asked where his  grandma
lived.  "Oh," he said, "she lives at the
airport  , and when we want her, we just go

get her. Then, when  we're done having
her  visit, we take her back to the airport."

14.
Grandpa is the smartest man on  earth! He teaches
me good  good things, but I don't get to see him

enough to get as smart  as him!

Thursday Night: June 25, 2009 ~ from Peta-de-Aztlan

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Hola Cat ~ though I like the royal sound and spelling of Catherine ~
Just a few lines before I sleep for the night.. another day at the refugee
camp...  I amazes me how much I learn about human nature on a daily basis. I am getting an education no formal college degree would give me.

How often people create their own disasters, pain-bodies and seem to be gluttons for self-punishment...

I guess I will close up shop and go hug my pillows... sweet dreams...

P.S. My cheap Vextra phone is dysfunctional.. it seems to work when it wants to work.. strange.. I cannot call out...then sometimes electrical devices play little games on me... plus sometimes time gets tricky. I was going to call you. I can call nationwide for free as part of my Comcast package.

I believe there is so much here than meets the eye in my little sanctuary.... There was no one living here before in this space they built this whole apartment building... I will send pixs...

The Four Agreements ~ blessings from Peta-de-Aztlan

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PX90DZq2OLA

The Four Agreements®

1. Be Impeccable With Your Word

Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.

2. Don't Take Anything Personally

Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering.

3. Don't Make Assumptions

Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.

4. Always Do Your Best

Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse and regret.

If we all followed The Four Agreements in a conscientious way
it would help to make agreements, understandings and loving
relationships blossom and flourish upon Mother Earth.

You only have one life to live at a time. Life it with love, peace
and inner wisdom. If all your past intimate relationships have failed
why not fall in love with the Creator, yourself and then try to find a
pure love yonder!? It all begins on the inside and knowing your soul!

Checking In: Monday Morning: June 22, 2009

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Well, it is Monday morning. Another day of work ahead of me. I love sleep because
in a real way sleep is sacred, it refreshes the whole being and prepares us for the
day ahead with the rest we need.

I am always going to be, first and foremost, a humane being, not identified only by
my sex, nationality, race or tribe. In fact the only real race of people is the human
race of homosapiens. That is why the very ideal of racism because one is born of
a particular ethnic group is so absurd.

I believe it is important for us to look closely at our intimate relationships in life,
especially those between us and members of the opposite sex. To me I look at
homosexuality as unnatural and a kind of perversion. Men should be intimate in
a sexual sense with women and women with men.

If one is single now and at least over eighteen (18) years, then that means that
if we have any previous intimate-sexual relationships that they failed!

We neeed to examine our lifelong failure to sustain any long-term, dare I say
it, permanent relationship. What is wrong with us?

Sure many like to play the field and pretend they are always happy doing so.
For me, my truth is that I would prefer to have at least one stable relationship
with a woman in my life, someone who I can count on, someone who is really
dependable and will be there when I need compansiohship, conversation and
to help meet my sexual-physical needs.

However, we should work on our relationship with the Creator ~ God/Goddess~
as a primary relationship. I believe in the Creator and that means the Creator
of the Cosmos. We should be in harmony with the Creator, in harmon with our
own self as a Creature of the Creator, then, strive to achieve a measure of real
harmony with others in our lives.

One of my major life activities is writing. I consider myself a creative writer and
know that it takes years of practice to get good at it. I have no book published
yet, but I am working on one.

I have been married once when I was younger at eighteen (18) years and then
I had a marriage for convenience later that was short lived. For my second
marriage I was in a transitional housing program called Mather Community Campus
out by Rancho Cordova. My second wife and I only lasted a few months, then after
we moved out into an apartment in Midtown she left me and escaped up to
Portland, Oregon. I helped her not to be homeless and had my 'save a 'ho'' cape
on.

Well, it is 6:40 AM and time to get going... Blessings to All Eyes who read this
morning blog entry. I have my system set up so I can post direct to my own
online Spiritual Journal, though it has been neglected a lot because I have a
private Spiritual Journal offlne.

I pray today is a creative, productive and prosperous day for all of us.

... a triadic approach for addiction recovery is essential.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Gracie Margie ~ My long term goal is to get a book out but it is a work of loving progress.... I get motivations every day as I work at a Salvation Army Emergency Shelter where there are many dry drunks and nervous dope addicts who know they must stay 'clean and sober' or be booted out onto the streets.

We need to shift consciousness to think in terms of sane and sober, not be stuck in the old terms of being 'clean and sober' (which came  from the influences of A.A. and N.A.).
-->
My eternal echo is that there can be a distinct and qualitative difference between a mere human being and a more highly evolved humane being. We are striving to create a critical mass in human consciousness here now by elevating consciousness from a lower human state to a higher humane state and mass humane consciousness.

A human being could simply be a two-legged carnivorous animal. However, a true humane being will have tender care, true concern and loving compassion for self and others. If we all begin to elevate our individual consciousness and stay aware of the vital importance of being humane towards one another it will make for a far better world than the predatory rat-eat-rat society we have today. It is objective
social conditions that must ultimately be changed and then ultimately transformed in order to combat all forms of negativism in society, beginning with our own individual consciousness. Keep growing, keep learning and keep elevating consciousness!

We are ultimately triune beings in the trinity of the mind-body-soul. Thus any wholistic treatment approach to curing drug addiction must factor in our triune beingness as a critical methodology and learning pedagogy.

Hola Peta,
WOW, I am impressed by your blog.  I didn't take time to read the whole article but the first two items and scanned the rest.  What a wonderful explanation and impetus for someone who is searching for help or researching the cause and treatment of drug addiction.  I have been fascinated by the topic for a long time because of the serious myths related to opioids and pain management.  We definitely could have some interesting conversations on the topic.  I absolutely believe that your triadic approach for addiction recovery is essential.
Let me pose a question.  Do you think that there is conflict in the term "human being"?  Doesn't "human" connotate that there is a "being"?  When referring to "living being" the connotation refers to a more general category with unspecified species or grouping of living things.  Everytime I see the term human being used, I ponder the useage.  Long story behind the question.
Lots to do today.  My family--and there are a bunch of us, four kids and spouses, ten grands--are going to So. CA for my oldest grandson's graduation from high school.  He is going into the Marines in July so we are all gathering together at my daughter's home for a three day event.  We haven't done anything like this for about 15 years.
Keep up your good work, as I am certain you will.

I'm sorry Peta/Peter.  I should have read all my emails before I answered the first one.  You did answer the question that I asked.  What type of writing do you do online?  I also enjoy writing as you can see and have written articles for Spectrum several years ago related to the senior population.
If you would be interested in investigating the best vitamins, check out the organic Nutrilite variety.  They are sold through the Amway Global company and I think are the best quality and combinations.  I visited one of their farms in So. CA many years ago and also went through their manufacturing plant.  It sounds like you are working at taking good care of yourself.
Yikes, it is way past my bedtime.  Now that you have my email address--yes I also have several--you can email me directly.
Solo el amor prevalece,
